Cupping

Cupping is the term applied to the Traditional Chinese Medicine technique that uses varying sized glass cups as suction devices that are placed on the skin for therapeutic purposes.

Cupping is usually applied to the body directly over Acupuncture points, or where there is a specific pain in the body.

This is generally done on fleshy areas of the body and most commonly the back and shoulders.

In Chinese Medicine Cupping is used to open the meridians or channels to encourage the normal flow of Qi and Blood.
